The build of the camera seems adequate, although I think the original Ixus had the edge on looks - the plastic ring around the front of the Ixus 300 looks naff. Overall, my results agree pretty much with the review on this site. - I am a little disappointed with the sharpness of the images, but they seem to be similar to those samples on this site. Images are not as sharp as a "similar" sized 35mm compact, but then you don't get the advantages of digital with these. Colour, contrast and lighting are flat, and the CCD is very slow compared with 35mm film. - c.f. approx 50-100ASA. I believe this is an adequate camera for web work, and for 'family snaps' to send to relatives, but I'll stick to 35mm when I want better quality - Even a scan of a 6x4 print will give sharper detail at the same resolution.

Problems:

RemoteCapture hangs the P.C. with Windoze Me.
