This one amazing camera!
You'll never miss a shot because you can always have the camera with you. Also, it is very small and non-obtrusive so it is easy to take photos without disturbing the scene. The quiet 3X optical zoom without a moving lens outside the camera body is very nice. Audio captioning is easy to use and seems useful. There is also playback of audio on the camera.
This one is a must if you want to have an easy to use, compact cam with you at all times. The menus are very easy to navigate. Also, some interesting and easy to use audio modes.
The design and engineering of the Dimage X was well thought out. This sets a new standard in the "point and shoot" consumer digital camera category.
I had a Canon S110, but the Dimage X makes the S110 looks big. I bought the Dimage X for $371. delivered on March 21 from www.ritzcamera.com. Gave my S110 to my son and haven't looked back. Quality of X photos is quite good. In a run-off, the S110 might be slightly better in some cases, but they are very close. And, I will definitely have the X with me at all times, so I won't miss a photo-opportunity.
The battery life is very reasonable. Bought a spare NP-200 battery from www.cdw.com. I think Amazon has it now. Also, got a good price on a 128M Secure Digital Card from CDW. The SD cards are the size of a postage stamp; this is likely to catch on in the future. (The Minolta manual says that the SD cards are faster than the MultiMedia Cards.)
Software from Minota is also easy to use and includes Color Image Matching technology and some very easy controls to make adjustments to the image on your PC.
Sorry for the long review, but I am very enthused with this revolutionary digital camera. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
