I am quite pleased with the sony DSC-P8. The picture quality is very good. The camera is very easy to use and is very solid. It is very small and light weight. I have printed numerous 8 x 10 pictures on my Canon i850 and they look great!! The 3.2 megapixel seems just fine for 8 x 10. I have not tried any pictures larger than that. I was concerned about red eye after reading a professional review indicating it was a problem. While I have had some pictures with some amount of red eye, many others have had no problem at all. This camera is not for the advanced photographer since it is mostly point and click. If you want lots of manual controls, look elsewhere. The macro feature works well. I have numerous close up shots that look very well defined. I have no comment on the movie taking ability of the camera. I have not used this feature since I have a mini DV camera.
Problems:
The one problem with this camera is battery life. The battery runs out pretty quickly. It is, however, easy to recharge and takes about 2 hours. I would strongly recommend a second battery. Also, you can't just pop in AA batteries in a pinch, like the P72.
