A former Sony F707 user who was considering moving up to the F828. Unfortunately Sony just couldn't handle the noise and Chromatic Abberation. So started looking for an alternative.
What I liked about the E-1 was the much reduced weight and size compared to the Canon 10D. That and the "splash proof" design fits right in with my kind of picture taking. That and the camera just fits in my hands better than either the Canon or Nikon.
I found that initially the buttons and layout a little overwhelming but have now adjusted and can alter the camera quite quickly for the shooting situation.
Auto White Balance works extremely well, such that manual WB is infrequently required, saving time.
The pictures come out of the camera pretty clean and often the only adjustment made in post processing is a little sharpening.
Shot to shot time is good, the buffer works well and the noise of the mirror and shutter is very low.
All in all very pleased with the overall function of the camera.
Problems:
None.
