My 350D is an upgrade from the old D30, and I have to say there really is no comparison. The speed of the thing! Its scary... The size and weight are a real improvement, and I am glad that I got the 350 instead of spending the extra and getting the 20D purely on the size/weight issue. As somebody said on one of the forums you're getting 85% of the 20D for 67% on the money.
I had a few minutes (literally) handling of a friends 300D to see how I got on with the button controls on the rear rather than the wheel of my D30 and I am pleased to say that this stood me in good stead for my 350D - I am qute happy jiggling about on the back of it and don't miss the wheel at all (which I thought I would).
All I can say to anybody thinking about upgrading to a 350D - DO IT!
Problems:
The only very minor niggle is the serial number rubbing off the bottom (see forums for details) - make sure you put some clear tape over yours!
