From my experience with high quality digital cameras, the Sony 8Mpixel DSC-F828 has a good solid chassy and firm grip when compaired to other 8Mpixel camera ie/ Nikon and Canon. The buttons and auto menu system are easy to reach while shooting. The camera was good for shooting 640X480 movies, but I was more interested in the quality of the STILL images and that is where I stop being positive.
Problems:
MAJOR CONS:
a. Image quality is really nasty on mid ISO settings...lots and lots of interference for a $1000 Camera. ps: You don't get that with Canon EOS 20D or the Rebel XT! On an ISO 200 setting the interference begins---and gets worse as you go up.
b. Painfully slow processing of RAW files...worst I have seen in the Camera industry so far! No buffer memory to help speed along those images!
c. lens quality is cheap... just trust me here.
d. The Flash system! My GOD, what was Sony thinking...there is no sync connection avaliable...
