I have finally found a camera that I am impressed with! I originally had the Nikon 4300, then tried to upgrade to the Fuji F10 (bad picture quality I thought). Then I tried the Nikon 7600 (a little better picture quality, but had very poor battery life, and a vey annoying lag in between pictures). So after being disappointed with the F10 and the Coolpix 7600, I tried my third camera.
Of the 3 cameras that I have tried, the A610 is the only one that has better quality than my 4MP coolpix 4300.
The A610 is a great camera! It is very fast, and takes very clear, crisp pictures. The battery life is also great on 4 AA NIMH 2500 mAh batteries. I read that Canon claims 500+ pictures with these batteries, so I tried it.........I am happy to say that I have taken 552 pictures with the flash used on every one, and the LCD on all the time. I have also taken over 15 min of video, and the batteries are still going strong!
I am very happy with this camera, and I would recommend it. This one will not be sold on ebay like the other two!
Problems:
- It is pretty big
- I wish the video compression was better. You can only take about 9 min on a full 1 GB card
- I can't see myself EVER using the flip-out screen
- The zoom knob feels pretty flimsy, and it sticks out in front of the camera. Seems like it could easily break.
