I have had my E-1 for a little over a year, and it continues to amaze me with the pictures it takes. Truth be known, it is far more capable than I am.
Having used, and still own, cameras from Nikon, Canon, and other manufacturers, I still rate my E-1 as one of the best purchases I have made in quite a while. In fact I just obtained a 2nd E-1 body since the prices have fallen so much from when I bought mine last year. Speculation is about a higher mp camera to be introduced in Februrary. The largest I have printed is 8x10, but the E-1 has no problem at all with that size; so do I really need anything else.
If you can still get an E-1, you won't regret it. Even if you buy another camera later this would be a great back-up. I plan on using my older one with the Olympus adapter and older Olympus lens.
If you look at the overall statistics for the E-1, you see that people have rated the build quality at 4.97. That's almost unheard of. Also the image quality is still holding in there at 4.75. This camera almost has a cult following and the people that take the time to learn the camera (this is true of any Digital SLR) will be rewarded.
