Bought this camera back in 2004, at the time, IMO it was one of the better small point and shoot cameras on the market.
Howver, time and technology have moved on, my recently stolen fuji F30 and current F31 are a quantum leap above the FX7 in respect of low light ability despite the FX7 having optical image stabalisation.
Problems:
Crippling battery life makes almost unusable. I got approx 50 shots per charge. Thsi problem was fixed in the FX8
On/off Swith easy to accidentially swith on when pushing camera into camera case
Limited ISO range, noise an issue at ISO 400
A swith on the control pad which is crucial to operating menu settings broke on its own accord, the cost to fix £130. I bought a Fuji instead.
