I presume that, unlike as is likely the case for most users of the EOS-1Ds Mark III,
the majority of the pictures that I take with it are of archival documents in fragile
bindings that cannot be copied on photocopiers. The documents that I copy often
are very old (150+ years) and handwritten.

The gain in resolution from the EOS-1Ds Mark III has been exceptionally helpful to
me. It enables me to decipher tiny, difficult to read handwriting.

While I am not an expert on color control, I find it as easy to set white balance on
the EOS-1Ds Mark III as it was to set it on the EOS-1Ds Mark II.

Problems:

Having, until about 4 years ago, used an Olympus OM-1N as my primary camera for
almost 20 years, I wish that someone could make a compact high resolution camera
with an array of compact fixed focal length lenses. The EOS-1Ds Mark III is not what I
would consider a camera back country treks. It is more of a studio camera (as the
designation "s" would suggest).
