I bought this camera with little or no pre-thought - we needed a cheap camera quickly as our old, much loved Casio camera had finally given up the ghost, we just had a new arrival in the family and needed something to get those vital early pictures.
This camera was chosen primarily on price - I picked it up for £59.99 in an Argos sale, and because I'd had Olympus film cameras in the past and have always respected the brand.
It performs okay, picture quality is reasonable and the camera is easy to use in the main.
Problems:
Slow to write highest quality images to XD card.
Auto-focus not the most responsive.
No sound on movies but can't complain for the price.
Camera automatically goes into digital-zoom mode at the far end of the zoom function (indicated by a red band on screen), there doesn't appear to be a way to turn off digital zoom, results of which are poor.
Focussing at far end of zoom a bit hit and miss.
Camera wants to use flash in almost any indoor situation on auto mode.
