I've been waiting for a 5D MkII, wanting a full-frame but without a grip, some weather sealing, dust control, a big LCD, great high ISO performance etc..This is it! It's my first DSLR so I can't compare it to anything else but it's the business. With a 50mm 1.4 and an 80mm 1.8 I'm in portrait heaven with knobs on. It can see in the dark, literally.
Perhaps the focus points could be spread out more - they were designed for the D300's cropped FOV - they seem to work brilliantly though
Colours are delicious ( I never liked Canon green ). Shame on me for being a jpeg shooter, but I am and it suits me just fine, there being plenty of customizable settings and my computer can handle the files rapidly. Like the pop-up flash, menus, controls, ergonomics, size. I wake up every day looking forward to more experiments and jaw dropping results.
Problems:
Compared to the rest of the camera, the CF door's a little too easy to open accidentally and the joystick feels flimsy. Every chain's got a weakest link I guess...(the neckstrap's awful)
