I have been usingn the 20d for around 4 years now and found it far more than satisifactory and given the fact that a lot of new models have been released i now obviously cant rate it as high now compared to when it was new. The camera produces brilliant consistant shots after another and especially when using prime lenses. I use the 50mm f1.8 ( upgrading to f1.4 soon) and 100 f2. Using these lenses the images are mind blowing providing perfect metering etc..Ive seen images from the 40d and cannot see any improvent and thats why i have not upgraded purely for the fact that the next camera i purchase MUST be a major upgrade, which now perhaps the 7d could be an option..HOWEVER the last few weeks i have begun going back to looking at scanned slides and guess what!!! as much as im in love with the digital format the scanned slides reminded me just how superior slide film is and ive now packed my 20d away and started shooting slide again, it leaves digital for dead..Instead of upgrading im now looking to upgrade my scanner and shoot with slide film, provia 100..

Problems:

flash photography very poor as allmost every time underexposes badly and i use a 550 EX and still doesnt help. As mentioned on other reviews sometimes focus locks onto background rather than subject even if subject takes up the majority of viewfinder.
