As many of you and the dpreviewer have pointed out, two major concerns are short battery life and flash popping up when camera is turned on. Otherwise, this little giant has almost every feature I want for a pocketable p&s, including manual control, zoom range, good low light/high ISO performance, and good IQ. However, since I am a pixel peeper I have noticed the following "characteristics" of the JPEG image. The image shoot under bright sunlight has revealed a unpleasant "straight line" artifact on the edge of high contrast areas, such as the edge of column with one side being exposed under direct sunlight and the other side is dark. If zooming in 100%, you will see a straight line which I have also observed in S95 JPEG but not as strong. I wish I could attach a picture so you know what exactly I am talking about. I have not observed this artifact in Canon DSLR.
