The gold standard
This lens is a dream! It gives images so sharp they almost look 3D. Bokeh is brilliant. If it wasn't so hefty it would be perfect. The Nikon TC-17e II teleconverter works amazing well on it when a little extra reach is needed and your 300 f2.8 can be left at home. I've also been able to shorten my workouts at the gym down to 15 minutes because of carrying this beast so often lol. But it's optics are superb and worth it. My D3s and D700 both love it, autofocus is virtually instantaneous with both. If you shoot with it and view the results you WILL want this one. Happy shooting.
Problems:
No problems thus far, not one hiccup. Excellence on demand.
