A great first camera to start taking pictures with. Lots of features built in (my favorite was the panorama assist) that make taking photos extremely easy. I would say this is a great camera to throw in your bag when you go on an outing or trip with friends because it is so convenient and small. The camera uses 2AA batteries which can be bought almost anywhere (I used rechargeable to save on constantly buying). The camera itself is also very sturdy, I've dropped it more than I can count, and it still works like nothing ever happened.
Problems:
The flash takes ages to load after discharging and it eats through the batteries like nothing else. Also, because it is a compact camera, there is very little camera control which makes it not great for night photography. It might be too simple for some, but that's why they have more advanced models right?
