Good quality pics overall. No useful customizations (dials & buttons), yet many jpg picture mode customizations that few will use, want or need (if you need this level of automation, you will do it post in RAW form). Many issues with this camera leave me wanting to teach the programmers how to do their job and fix the short-comings. The pic quality and optics are goog when ISO is below 800. Above 800 degrades quickly. No program shift. In any autoISO mode, no ISO number on display so you never know what the camera is setting it at. Auto modes drop SS down below hand holdable before bringing up ISO, so all low-light pics have camera shake unless you adjust all the perameters shot by shot. Lumix allows bottom numbers to their program curves. Movie quality is poor. No manual focus once you start a movie. Auto focus keeps hunting back and forth while filming. This is not a good camera for video.

Overall, if you set this camera up manually for each shot, you will like the results. If you expect it to be a quick high quality P&S, look elsewhere. My scoring is based on manual settings or optimal adjustments.

Problems:

Came with about 6 bad sensor pixels, but using the built in Pixel Mapping function fixed it:)

One of the many operational gripes I had with my XZ-1 (a camera I nevertheless loved and probably shot more with than any other camera I have owned) was that the Auto ISO mode seemed to have been intentionally crippled in software. My XZ-1 only ever selected ISOs between 100 and 200, rendering Auto ISO an almost complete waste of time!
