Mountain in Tibet, China

wow! I suggest you go there and have a visit personally, talk to the original citizen of Tibet. Your conclusion will be different from any political nonsense. Just go there.
........with some help from America's miserable
product of Democracy, Bill Clinton, (by his silence).

Please do not forget this. Tibet was raped bt China.

Thank you, Nicholas, http://www.nickphoto123.com

What I did see is the monks in Tibet can do everything they want! Even I joined their ceremony. So many religion festivals recently, government seldom interfere them. Just be there. It's also heaven for photography.
......weren't the Tibetan Monks also 'Original Citizen's ' of Tibet?

Good photography involves on focusing on reality.

The same goes for good politics.

Hi Azure,

this is a great capture, although I would have cropped it just a bit thighter. The clouds are almost unreal, did you adjust anything to get this effect or are those greys natural?

About Tibet itself, maybe China alows some monks to practise their religion, but I think it's probably to get more tourists than a real right to speak freely and choose your religion. You can't deny China destroyed most of the monastaries while invading Tibet, and that they took controll without any good reason. But this isn't the right place to talk politics, huh, and it is a great picture, that's what is important around here.

kind regards,

Nicholas,

One thing about photography, one can make a political statement with it, and can make pretty pictures and everything else inbetween. But this is about photography, not clinton or any other politcal leader. If you want to make political statements, then there are plently of places on the web you can do so. This is not the place.

Peace
Jim

PS I am as political as one can be, but I leave my politics at the door when I come into this place---except in a few of my photo's.

Hi Greg,

I adjusted a little bit to make the grey cloud ( in the left of the mountain). Just a little bit. It's almost nature.

Thanks!

Nicholas, this is a photograph of a mountain, it could be in Tibet or Washington State, by making statements of genocide, new york times, under the quise of claiming you are not making a political statement is wrong. The quickest way to start some non photography flaiming is by making statements such as what you just made. While I fully know what went on in Tibet, I refuse to take sides in any political statements, right, wrong or indiffernt. It would behoove you to do the same.

Peace
Jim

..............Tibet is not China.

Posts in this forum are usually accurate.

Your luke warm approach to things reminds me of English leaders holding up a peace of paper signed by Hitler. They forgot history and this lead to many, many lost lives.

You should be as offended with what China did to Tibet as you are that I am trying to corrrect someone's mis-statement posted to this Forum.

and you are still making political statements.

Make your statements with words, not pictures. That is the beauty of photography, in some respects, the pictures are far more powerful then the words.

The man stopping the tank in China........that fuzzy picture, of all the ones about the period in history said it all.

Peace
Jim

.............Azure stated when he posted this thread.

Re-read it please, and then you too can point out to Azure his incorrect title to his very excellent picture.

And if you happen to bump into Clinton, give him my regards.

........................never be 'convinced' if you don't know by now.

You apparantly have just been made aware of some of China's 'dirty laundry' (As Nelson Mandela called some of his country's domestic issues at one time), it is not suprizing that you don't want China's hung in this Forum.

The solution is simple, Please, title your image with a correct name.

My own humanity prevents me from letting your error slip by.

If Azure's original post said, "here's a picture of a mountain in Alaska..." would the picture have been any different photographically than where it actually is? You may have issues with China and Tibet but most of us on this forum just like to look at pictures of mountains and other scenes and not bring any political issues into the photographic aspect of discussing a HOBBY!! Do what the Tibetan monks would undoubtedly advise and go to a quiet place where you can meditate on your emotions and calm yourself. Your behavior on this forum and inappropriate response to Azure and the others is misplaced and totally ineffective in solving the issues you feel so strongly about.

If I can borrow from Jim
