Since you liked the others. Australian native bees at sundown. Gripping the grass stem is how they sleep/roost at night - these ones anyway.

WOW!!!!! these are truly stunning. Thanks for sharing them :-)

Wow wow wow!!!! These are incredible! Amazing images, what attachment/lens were you using?

Another simply superb set Mark. I shall certainly be trying out my FZ50 and the Raynox 150. suspect I could use more magnification as our UK bugs are typically a tad smaller than those in Oz :)

Fabulous these be, each and every one!

Another superb set of shots, each one a gem.

I live in Australia and am yet to see these bees. I know they don't have a sting, but that's the limit of my knowledge about them.

I can think of anything more to say about these great photos, it's been said.

I just looked at your website. Not only is your photography superior to anything I've seen in a long time, your site is stupendous. Your attention to detail and your execution in explanation are excellent.

This is serious, serious fine work! I'm frank when I tell you this quality should be published. I don't know anything about the market for "coffee table" books, but I'd be happy to have this quality bound and in my living room, or framed and on my walls. I just wish I could say it was me doing this.

I'm jealous, and will make a concerted effort to imitate your style over the next few months as the bugs come back with the Spring warm up.

One question. So, If you didn't have the FZ50, and you needed to do this kind of work, would you get the FZ200 or would you get something different?

If I didn't have the FZ50 I'd probably use the FZ30 ... :) Otherwise it's a lot of experimentation and money.

I have thought about a coffee table book but haven't implemented it yet, if ever. I have a load of prints I used for the local markets but that just about covered costs and the day was too long for a broken body - so I just rotate some on the wall and give some away now and then.
