>>> Challenge #6: Water in Motion <<<

Sorry for the confusion there. The maximum file size for your entry is 150KB.

On the upload pages, you'll see the 2MB reference. That is the maximum size that can be uploaded on the web page, which only applies if you are uploading your original for EXIF verification (the size of your entry file added to the size of your original (if applicable) cannot exceed 2MB). If your original is larger than that, you can reduce it, or email it to me.

Hope this helps.

Dan
This will be my first attempt to enter the challenge, but I am
confused over the size limitations. The rules state "no larger
than 150kb" and a in another part it states "Total size 2mb". Are
these two different measurements? I don't rally understand the
difference if there is one.
Thanks
Barry

Hi Barry --

Dan has just redone the Fujimugs site, so there is bound to be some errors here and there. This "2MB" size thing is surely a typo or a misunderstanding...

The filesize limit for submitted pics is 150k, and can be no larger than 800 pixels on the longest side. Your pic may be smaller (say 650x400 or whatever) if you feel that the 150k size limit will make a 800x600 pic too bad to look at.

best,

The subject of Challenge #6 is "Water in Motion". This challenge
is open to all Fuji digital cameras.

The entry period begins now, and continues through the end of
Thursday, May 15 (GMT). Voting will take place at the start of
Friday, May 16 through the end of Monday, May 19.

The web site is undergoing an update right now, so the challenge
info won't be there until some time next week. In the mean time,
please hold on to your entry. When the web site is updated, you'll
be able to upload your entry.

CHANGES

In the ever-lasting search for an ideal photo size/image size
combination, I've made a change for this challenge: Images can be
up to 800 pixels on the longes side, but the file must be no larger
than 150KB. What this means is, if you have a very detailed image,
you may have to reduce the pixel size to avoid high compression.
It's all up to you - if you're happy with the way your photo looks
at 800 pixels and 150KB, great. If not, try reducing the pixel
size a bit and see if you get better results.

As usual, if you don't have the means to adjust file size, you can
submit the original and I'll help with the resizing. There will be
an option on the upload page for this.

If you have any questions, comments, etc., please respond to this
thread, or email me at [email protected]. If that email bounces
during the web updates, use [email protected].

Let us know how the Matrix is! I can't wait to see it!! I got my entry in, thanks to help from Dan! Unfortunatly I missed the shot I wanted to enter. I was all excited about it, but when I got home to view my pics it wasn't even there! I had filled my memory card & guess I missed the notification through the view finder in the sun. :( I entered another one just for the heck of it.
I'm going to be a bit late tomorrow (seeing the new Matrix movie)
and won't be home in time for the scheduled start of voting, so I
delayed it by two hours. On the plus side, you have two extra
hours to get an entry submitted.

The Challenge info page shows the time remaining:

45 entries so far.

I am an S304 (3800) user since December and came across this forum and via it the challenge a few days ago. I have submitted an entry but I don't know if it's good enough to do very well.

I'm not sure of all the differences between the 2800 and 3800. As far as I know the lens is the same but the sensor is 3megapixel instead of 2. Also the fixed flash is replaced with a pop-up one. What other differences are there?
On the other hand, I don't think there are many 2800 users in the
challenges - am I the only one?

Thanks...I am surfing between jobs at work, so I missed seeing that one! But due to your reply I now know what is going on!
Can we add comments to photos like we could in the last challange?
I see a link to report problems & add comments, but not a seperate
place for individual photos.
