offtopic sorry but anyone been to Honolulu? good place to photography?

Live in NJ thinking of going to Honolulu is like like any big city..NYC?

Well, I've only been there 2x, but have to agree with Jerry . And maybe a bit on the waterfront. Go to Maui...up the mountain...looks like the moon.

I go to the islands once a year to photograph hotels for virtual tours. Of all the places on all of the islands, Honolulu is the same as LA as far as I'm concerned. I spent time there as a kid on the beach on Oahu, and my parents came back to the mainland to have me! Think they wanted to make sure I could grow up to be President or something. This was before it was a State!


Anyway, if you do go don't really expect to be taking anything special in the way of photos - other than possibly more interesting/offbeat urban photography. There are plenty of other places on the island of Oahu though where you'll see lots of cool things. Pearl Harbor alone is well worth the visit if you're there on the Honolulu side.

You could consider spending just a day or two there and then hopping to another island as well. It's like a whole half hour flight to Maui or Hawaii or Kauai.

Are there palces on the island that are? or am I better off going to another island
