i950 Photo Papers Survey

I'm heading to Staples tomorrow.

Jerry
Today (5/9) I walked into my local Staples & was delighted to find
20 sheet packages of Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy, 8.5"x11", at
$12.98, on a buy one get one free basis. That's 40 sheets for
$12.98. I bought 6 packs of 20, and paid $38.94, which works out to
$0.32/sheet.

Maybe your local Staples has the same deal, but YMMV.

I see that the Epson paper is quite heavy. Canon does not recommend paper heavier than 105 gms with the i950 unless it is Canon paper, and I have found that if I use non-Canon paper I get marks from the rollers on the edges of the paper/print.

What are your experiences with the Epson paper then? And what profile do you use, if any? Thanks.

Steve, I found it there for $9.69 with no free shipping, here

http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10330639&loc=101&search_store=1&searchitemnumber=C55P7T

Do you have the buy.com address where we can get it for $6.07?
I've bought from buy.com before and that price is for the 4x6 sheet pack, not the 8x11.

Karen, this is for the 8.5x11 sheets. Here's the direct description from the buy.com site: "8.5X11 Photo Paper Plus Glossy I320 S200 300 500 750 800 900 9000." Click on the link and you'll see.

I went back & bought some more, this time using a Staples $10 off $40 coupon, so I got the paper for $.25/sheet.

Sorry, I think I'm confused this morning. I was replying to the wrong post, or read the post wrong. I know the $6.07 is for the 4x6, which I've bought from buy.com a couple of times. I was checking them out yesterday myself and I see they have removed free shipping from some of the papers I had purchased in the past. Their shipping is so fast that I get my order in about two days. I have a i850, but figure the two printers use the same paper, so I am following this post. I wish someone would post on what the Canon photo matte quality is like.

Their shipping was a little higher than I wanted to see. For a 50 pack of photo paper (Epson premium glossy 8.5x11) which costs $22, it was an extra $7.40 for shipping for me in PA.

I don't know if the Epson paper you mentioned is the same as what Best Buy has, as it is called Epson Glossy Photo Paper Model: S041649. It is $22.99 for a 50 pack with free shipping.

You might also want to check the prices on their Canon photo papers. The prices may be a little higher, but free shipping might bring down the overall price.
