I just updated my A99 and everything works as expected. Tomorrow I will test 70-200G's new AF-D performance.

There is one unexpected bonus: my Tamron 70-300 USD is also AF-D certified! Obviously it uses the same ID as Sony 70-300G. Great news!!

There has been mention of boot/on speed benefits, you see any?

No much difference but I haven't paid much attention to it. A99 wasn't slow to begin with either. The big deal for FW1.01 is the AF-D support.

I think it's slightly quicker, but there can only be a fraction of a second in it. The screen seems to power up quicker, but there's still a short delay until the AF points etc are ready to use.

Not that start up time has ever been an issue for me.

Same here, there is a slight increase in boot up time and screen turn on.
Maybe 20% quicker?

Not radically faster, but noticeable enough.

Still, none the less, welcome any increase in speed. :-D

Is it faster like a Dinan firmware?? 1/2 :) lol now we all need to put the camera on the dyno-stopwatch app to find out. I downloaded it already but have not flashed it in yet... will get to it later tonight.

I know, but that's in English.
