Huh? I own two tripods. One standard sized carbon fiber and a mini tripod when I'm carrying light.morepix wrote:
You just have to look around a little to find them.
Do you recall whether you used the ND filter for the train shots?
You would do OK if you didn't need high ISO performance or require a rig for professional gigs. The LX7 hold its own as an all-around everyday performer.rickreyn wrote:
Since getting the LX7 I've been shooting like crazy because it's fun. I am also hard pressed to see that big of a difference IQ wise than my DSLR. Yet I still keep getting the small voice saying this really isn't the sophisticated kind of photography you should aspire to. Shoot in manual. Know what settings will work best. Get the tripod. Weight it down. Lock the mirror. Pay thousands for a 2.8 lens. Well here I am with a 1.4. Is this not a legitimate--as they say on the island--piece of kit? What if I ditch the DSLR and wandered through life with this tiny wonder in my pocket?
In-camera image stabilization on today's cameras are effective. I always leave it on.howardfuhrman wrote:
Dez,
I always try to keep my ISO low, but in the situation where I took the photo of the wine glass, I opted to use ISO 1600 and keep the shutter speed high. After I saw your photo, I handheld a shot at 1/10 sec at ISO 80 and I was very surprised at how well the camera's stabilization worked and the photo was sharp. I now know what I will do in the future. I learned a valuable lesson from your photo.
The wine was better than my photo.
