Hello everyone! I am a first time poster and long time lurker looking for some C&C on a few photos of my daughter. If you could please offer any advice I would truly appreciate it! Thank you so very much!

This was taken indoors in front of a window.

She had her pupils dialated at the doctor's, that's why her eyes look a little odd. Don't worry, I made her put sunglasses on after the shot!

I would be so grateful for any advice you could give. Thanks again for looking.

images 2 & 3 are nice shots, they are a record of her you can admire for years to come.

image 1 is beautiful, i just seems you have gotten into her soul with this shot, if i had to be at all critical i would say its a tad over exposed on the right hand side, but i just love it as it is.

I do not criticize your technique but it is important to improve it. I like the first two photos, they say me something, even if is it not true I see drama in them. I like them.Welcome.

Thank you so much, nikonFboy. Your words are very encouraging to me! Could you please tell me how to avoid overexposure next time? Would using my reflector help with that? Or should I just fix it in PP? Thanks again!

Thank you, Vidau, for the kind words. Do you have any suggestions for improvement for me? I would be really grateful. By the way, the drama you see in my daughter is very real. She's a very dramatic girl! Thanks again!

Post and ask at DPreview is a good start.

I think that the best way to learn is to practice, analyze and return to practice, read photography books and the cheapest: the WEB. On the internet there are many sites where you can learn, there are tutorials and many photography sites. View and analyze photos of old and new talent is a good learning.

To me, I love the portrait and I prefer the composition over technique, in these two sites if you analyze them you'll see what I mean and you can learn European styles:
