I am trying to find a good strap for my Fuji X-E1 with the 18-55mm kit lens. I was thinking about the Black Rapid Straps. Which one would you use from their website? Anyone know about them? The Fuji Strap is not my favorite. I want to be able to wear this thing without noticing it on me.

BLACKRAPID SNPAPR 35???

This was asked and discussed Jan 12/13. Use the search feature. Not trying to be nasty. Just trying to avoid the same questions being asked over and over

I use the cloth ones (both black) on my X100 and X-E1

Artisan and Artist Straps (home page)

Straps I use

They are very comfortable to use and don't slip. My personal preference is to attach both strap ens to the same left side lug of the cameras and sling strap over just one shoulder.

I tried it when I first got my Xe-1 as the original fuji is a let down. The black rapid I have which is the one for big SLR's is way to big and bulky. SO I bought the Garizz half case and the shotgun strap and its just right as I prefer the retro look to go with the camera and its leather. Its nice and thin and works on same principal as the others but matches the half case. If you prefer the Black Rapid modern style first look at the new Carry Speed brand as they have improved the design of the Black Rapid style.

Cheers

They look fine but way too big for the X-E1. For me the perfect strap for a camera of this size is either the Footprint strap or the Gordy.

The BlackRapid sling straps are nice but most are made for DSLR users. In general they are too bulky and will take up as much space in your bag as the X-E1 with lens mounted. They do, however, offer a new model called the Metro that I own. If you like to use a sling strap it's pretty much the ideal solution for a mirrorless camera. The only issue I have with the setup is that the fastener which connects to the tripod mount is too wide at the base and ends up blocking the battery door. It's pretty simple to remove when necessary so I just keep telling myself that it's added protection against the door accidentally opening (but I really hope they'll offer a more compact model in the future since they seem to be giving this market some attention).

The thing about black rapids I didn't like is- the camera twists and the lens bangs up against you. I carries mine down by my waist and the lens banged against my belt & against the clip of my pocket knife. The only way to prevent it was to walk softly or keep a hand on it. Neither were feasible options for me.

i like the strap in theory but in real world use I wasn't a fan.

just food for thought.

I have a black Gordy's strap with red thread which looks nice with either my XP1 or X-E1, but it's not all that comfortable.

I got one of the Metro straps from BlackRapid and while I wouldn't use it on my D4, it's perfect for a camera the size of the Fuji's!

I went out for a photo walk recently with it and it was enjoyable to use. Although I didn't have to change batteries during the shoot, the BlackRapid connector does partially cover the battery door.
