I'm not a fanboy at all, but why only 4,2 % for the A99 in this Poll ???

What's there to worry about?

Why would you care so much about other people's opinions?

the camera in my hand.

a77 for rough use.

a99, I treat it like a baby.

a100, might leave it in my truck soon, with the 70 210 Minolta lens.

Sony Handycam...hangs around.

Coming soon,

How do I lose all that surplus weight from my gear ?

right next to....

5 must have lenses for any serious collection !

With the recent "innovations" , this place is one contest away from a Supermarket Magazine.

DPR running that poll, has an odd way of portraying something, but I don't figure what.

If they had said, "If you had the finances to purchase a camera, what for you is the best camera on your list?" or something like that, it might be reasonable.

But there are people here who cannot afford a camera, and then there are people who have a particular camera (say me with an a99), who might say the best camera this year is the little Sony innovation.

I'm sure a polling company would have a field day with the results. And they don't say the exact number of 'clicks'. Visitors can vote right?

So perhaps it's indicative of the number of members in the various forums. Only dpr knows that. For example, unlike many other boards, there is no indication of how many views a post gets.

It is, at the end of the day, a very odd poll, and it might be worthless.

In my case if i had the cash, I'd add another smaller camera than the a99, something I could put in a big pocket.

DPR after all, giving cameras 'scores', already has come to conclusions. Those might not be yours or mine.

Hi John,

I agreed!

If it's a marketing question (a part of my job in fact) yes this poll dosen't make sense. Because i guess, the amount of sales per unit, not confirm the result of the poll. So i'm not sure at all, about the result and the influence of poll like this.

Kind Regards,

:-)Interestingly enough the German Magazine FotoBible had their review of the Best Camera of 2012 and everything else photgraphic.

Entry Level Winner A57 (Score 90%)

Semi Pro Winner D600 (91.55%), 2nd A77 (91%), 3rd A65 (90%)

Google translate for A77 Review

Sony says its DSLR provides supply, sensor and The processor according to good image quality, and in a fabulous speed. real Highlights are the viewfinder that? exible moving 3-way display, the Full HD Movie Mode, the high-quality weatherproof Magnesium housing and not least the superior image quality that the SLT-A77 a standing at the top of our rankings. Can be used for almost 1,200 euros the SLT-A77 with the semi-professional, if not the pro DSLR competitors measure.

Interestingly the Cons where

little slower processor, deleting a Image sometimes take longer than expected.

Germans always want perfection

Thanks a lot for sharing this. Very interesting indeed. What was the score of the A99 please?

I think the price was also a big factor for this challenge.

For me the best camera is still my Sony A77. I prefer the APS-C format over FF.

Even though it came out in late 2011, with the latest firmware updates that came out in 2012, it is still hard to beat. And with the latest price reductions it has to be one of the best camera bargains available.

Not yet tested, I think they have decided it is a 2013 camera!

Where is it? I don't browse anywhere else on this site than this forum, so 'Main Section' means nothing to me.
