It was quite dark - the only light was from the moon, which was almost full.KENTGA wrote:
Love the photo. How dark was it when you made the photo?

Not three seconds - three MINUTES! The light painting was just a few seconds. You need to open the lens up to f8 at least, otherwise it takes a really long time.1971_M5 wrote:
Excellent result. Three seconds with a full moon and some light painting... I'll file that in the gray matter if I ever have a chance to do someting similar. Thanks for posting!
I just realized I did not have LE noise reduction turned on - an oversight on my part.Ernie Misner wrote:
Did you have LE noise reduction turned on, or? Great shot.

That is very nicely done. Composition in the dark sucks, at least you had a full moon to help (if I am remembering that tidbit correctly...)
Having the horizon right smack dab in the middle of the image detracts a little bit, but the overall feel is great!

That's a good point and I totally agree with you about the horizon being distracting. I remember just trying to get the horizon level, which wasn't easy because I was on a narrow ridge about five feet wide with about a 75ft steep drop on either side. So my options for changing the point of view were limited. And it was dark![]()
