Hi,

Just wiggled the VF block and it moves. Is that to help with adjustment or is it a fault?

Hope it's normal because this is my 3rd one. I've had a sticky AE button and a focusing problem on the others.

Can someone check theirs please and let me know?

Many Thanks

A loose OVF has been reported before as a fault.

I had 4 of them, here's the main problems I found with them.

1. Poor/erratic focusing with false confirmation or locking onto anything but your intended target even when set on centre AF point only.

2. Temperamental AF switch, often leaving the camera on AF/C even when the switch is set to AF/S or MF.

3. Loose OVF housing and wonky dioptre only giving a clear image at one or the other end of the zoom range.

4. Temperamental on/off switch.

5. Orbs.

The thing about this one though, is that it is perfect, except for the VF wobble.

I don't think Paul saw all those problems on every X10 he owned. Here is my experience with only 1 X10.

1. Never noticed but one of the first things I did when I turned it on was set it to centre AF hence I won't notice this if it is a problem

2. See point 1: I won't notice this

3. No problems yet

4. No problems yet

5. Yes. All early models. Only way to know if this is a problem is too shoot and find out.

Well it shouldn't be loose, so it looks like you had better get it exchanged again, that will be your 4th just like me. I gave up on it after the 4th was found to also be faulty.

I honestly don't think there are any out there without one fault or another, some people just don't worry about them.

Paul.

If you actually read what I wrote Daniel you would see that I set my camera to centre point only. They still focused on other parts of the frame.

Paul.

I tried 5 different cameras this morning in 2 different dealers and they all had a slight wobble.

Not as much as mine though, so I took home the best one sealed brand new.

I'm happy now. :-) Thanks everyone.

Cheers
