Please have a review of these photos taken by me using Sony DSC-HX200v. I just wanted to know if I'm on the right track. It is my second camera after Canon A2200 and do not have any advanced experience. Any comment will be greatly appreciated and please do (even complaints will be accepted:-))

Please send a few more. There are seasoned pros on this forum who can give you some valuable tips. (Not me) I have an HX200 and enjoy it, you will too.

You'll enjoy HX200V, it's one of the most versatile cameras ever, there are very few things you would't be able to do.

Looking at these two shots is hard to tell anything about how you're doing it but you might take your time, think and plan before each shot, be selective, learn and know about your great tool and practice a lot... but don't go away becoming a happy trigger either: digital photos are for free, but it's boring to have to select and delete the bad ones later, LOL.

Post as much captures as you'd like to share for getting opinions, advices and tips, here are many people who like to share, help and teach.

Never stop learning... it's the best way to get older meanwhile keeping younger and your brain on shape...
There're not enough shots on your Flickr still...

One of the first rules is trying to avoid to shooting under bad lighting; overcast sky tends to kill shadows and contrasts, flattens the captures and UV radiation makes funny things to colors specially on reds, by the contrary, midday sun stokes contrasts and may result in blown-out highlights and/or blocked-up shadows. The very best hours to shoot outdoors is when the sun is getting lower on the horizon, specially during the golden hours.

Meanwhile, shoot a lot, practice and do experiment by changing/testing all the camera setting and features for getting used to them, knowing how they work and the effect they have on your captures.

Set your HX200V NR setting to Normal, always.

Well, you have taught me a lot sir. Just wait 'till I become a pro, maybe a decade or two XD.

BTW, I would like to ask something about appertures and DOF..

What is the recommended distance of the camera to the subject regarding a certain value of apperture? And to what recommended Shutter speed will be set?

I looked at wiki for DOF, well for a few minutes I stopped reading..its like headache to me. Maybe someone Please ENLIGHTEN ME!

And another one, how to reduce smudging on HX200v? TIA
