Is it possible to upload photos to a Mac using NEX wi-fi?

Sony instructions say there is no Mac software, maybe there is a work around. My NEX-6 can make a wi-fi connection to my Mac, but I can't work out what to do from there.

A lost cause?

I've tried an Eye-fi card. It works. I'm new to using an Eye-fi card and I can already see the limitations. Is this a solution?

I should add that I'm more interested for small data transfer. I realise that wi-fi is problematic with a large data set.

Cheers

Thanks Matt

I've tried the software and it works fine.

In the interim I purchased a 16GB Eye-Fi card.

The Eye-Fi card is much quicker to respond, connects automatically and has some other nice features.

In the absence of Eye-Fi, the SONY software is OK.
I can't seem to get any joy with this. The Mac software seems to be able to be set to recognise the camera but then I can't get the two to talk to each other.

Has anyone made this work?

Thanks for the link Matt!

I just got the 5R, and hadn't tried the WiFi transfer until I saw your post. Just set it up and it seems to be working well.

Kevin,

I don't know if the order I set up the WiFi on the camera had anything to do with it, but I set up the camera to connect to my home WiFi network first. After the camera was connected, I used the app from the link that Matt provided, and attached the camera to my mac with the USB cable to complete the setup. Disconnected the USB from the camera and went to "MENU" > "Playback" > "Sent to Computer" to let the transfer begin.

It's nice that the software will convert the AVCHD video to MP4 format upon transferring the data. That said I didn't expect the camera to transfer everything to my Mac. I haven't taken a really good look, but it doesn't seem to have an option to select what you want transferred over WiFi.

I'm probably going to stick to using the cable since it's faster and less of a battery drain. It may come handy while traveling, or if I forget to take the cable with me.

just fired this up myself on my mac.

seems to work ok, but i was only really interested in using it to send single images at a time, which as you state doesn't seem possible. hopefully they'll improve this in a firmware update.

Ditto.

It assumes that you'll use wi-fi all the time.

poor design

I installed the Wireless Auto Import software and configured my NEX-6.. but I don't see the "Send to PC" button on my NEX-6, I see a "Send to iPhone" button instead? Any help?
