Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...Peter Lik. Under The Canopy?!?

That is a valid point. For example, just last week I went to a speciifc destination to shoot a landmark at night. Posted result to a local link and contacts.

Then, yesterday a friend posted a similar but not identical image, a nightshot of the same landmark.

Honestly, initially I thought huh? my idea so soon? But to be fair, I have no 'right' to the area and many probably did it before, plus, if my photos inspired, that is good, not bad.

And the friend is not a malicious person.

But, every photo will have a nuance, or processing, our own interpretation, whether angle or whatever, even if it can be done similarly.

I guess the point is to make an image that we see and enjoy doing so.

That's all.

PS At least its better than a story a friend told me. This friend of a friend, is usaully called up by another ladyfriend of hers when they are going to a family/friends get together, to ask what she will be bringing and then proceeds to...make exactly the same thing.....LOLLLLL!

Nutty as a fruitcake.

If you want to know how to make money from photography I'd suggest you take a good look at what KR is doing. He rakes in $500.00 a day just from his website by simply promoting it and enticing his followers to mention him here in DPR periodically.
Where this $500 is coming from? Did Ken mentioned it himself or is there a method to independently deduce it?
Who knows how many lemmings actually fall for his "please support my family" scam and actuall send him cash every month. AFAIK he has never produced a single photograph worth mentioning and definitely nothing you'd want to put your name to.
This is a beauty of his marketing. When I first read his essays and opinions (many moons ago) and started taking pictures following his advice I quickly was able to get the pictures similar to his. Wow, I thought, his teachings are working! It makes me a real photog :-) Pretty soon, I learned to take it with a grain of salt. But surely my traffic contributed to his Google AdSense earnings.

I have the feeling that the 500$ arrived at in conclusion is the amount indicated by sites like websiteoutlook.com, which measures income based on Alexa ranks and approximated clicks. It is often not true.

I help run two websites and neither make the estimated income. One is way over, the other is way under.

It has started again. Someone now has issues with the OP.

A little help and we'll be there. Might as well kill this thread now so it doesn't show up again in 2013.

I think the Mayans are being misinterpreted. They only predicted the end of full frame cameras in 2012, not the end of the world :-) .
