Less than a year ago I bought a Fujifilm JZ300, was working ok and suddenly one day I turned it on and on the screen the image looked in green tones and the photos were also like that, kind of when you set the crom feature but it was off. Sent it to the Fujifilm center and they said was nothing wrong, got it back after over a month and the camera still the same, even worst, now photos are green and so dark. Does anyone know what could be the problem and if it is easy to fix or what is the most convenient thing to do?

Thank you for your help.

Send it to the service center again with a letter explaining the situation. Also, forward a copy of the letter to Fuji's national office. Good luck!

Perhaps if you posted some sample photos showing what you are experiencing and explaining what settings you used, we could better help you.

I just tested Fuji's F600EXR, taking indoor pictures without using the flash, with fluorescent lighting, and with the White Balance set to Tungsten. The screen images and the pictures produced that way were very green. As someone else said, post one or two of your green photos, but make sure that they're original, unedited photos, to insure that we can see the photo's EXIF data, in case the problem is not due to using the wrong white balance.

Have you tried the camera reset? Should be somewhere in the menus.

Also, you could try a different memory card.

I just thought of this: have you looked at the pictures on anything other than the camera?

If you view the pictures on your PC and they look OK, the camera display is most likely bad, but nothing else.

Good luck with this. At the price point of the camera it looks like a very good value. Worth a couple hours to troubleshoot I think.

Yeah Bill, I too was thinking it might actually be a user error on white balance. That is why I suggested providing some sample photos.

Even though Fuji has been screwing up on customer service and quality control rather consistently over the past couple of years, I have to wonder about whether this situation described here is typical Fujifilm nonsense or user error.

Hopefully we will get some photos to review so we can effectively evaluate this problem.

Hi everyone, thank you for your reply.

Answering your questions, I tried the reset as well as formatting and nothing. Pictures look the same on the camera and on the PC. I tried with memory card and without it. Indoors and outdoors.

So, here are some pictures for you to take a look. The dark ones are taken with flash. The one of the landscape is when this color problem started.

I will be so happy if it is something I am just missing in the camera features.

Thank you all for your time and help!

It looks like a very serious case of sensor failure or in-camera processing failure. White balance is way out, but greyscale looks OK.

You could try manual white balance just to see if that will work. I would also suggest taking some images in daylight.

You just need to send a CD or similar with some sample images back to the service centre when you return the camera.

Uh, I seriously don't think the memory card is going to turn the images green! LOL

It might seem unlikely, but it actually can.

My first ever digital camera 'didn't like' a memory card, and some of the JPEG images it recorded had some very similarly gross colour casts, as well as some other image faults.

I swapped for a different memory card, and everything was then absolutely fine.

Admittedly that was all about 11 years ago, when such 'incompatibilities' were more common - but some fault or problem with the the image file writing/a memory card should not be ruled out.

Of course it should be relatively easy to check for faulty memory card - simply by trying one or two different cards in the same camera.

Thank you all for your answers.

The inconvenient with the Fuji center is that as I bought this camera on ebay, they told me the guarantee is not valid. So, I am trying to find a place in town to bring the camera and see if they can fix it.

First time I have a Fuji and it will be the last.

How long ago did you buy it?

Is it still in the 45 day eBay "guarantee" period?

If not there is not much you can do if it was a private salle rather than from a business with a reputation to protect.

Any manufacturer can have a problem. If you take that attitude you might miss out on some innovative products that could be just what you want...
