Not yet, but as an Android user, I'll likely try it depending what comes up in this thread :-)

But my first question is "Why?". How are you hoping to use this?

Hey

Search for playmemories mobile in the play store. Then install the remote control app (or something similarly named), for the camera.

Then launch the cameras app, then the phones app and connect to the listed "hotspot" mode and you're done. This is all on memory so the names might not be 100%

I went to the play memories site and couldn't see it. I thought to use it as a remote control for street photography as where I live there is wifi everywhere. I can live without it but was curious how it works.

Yes it works with Android but seems to be a hit or miss. Like some phones connect fine others wont depending on your exact version of Android.

My Note 1 was connecting and not my Note 2 says connected but still keeps trying to connect.
Hoping for an update soon.

how interesting I went to the link and it said it is not compatible with my orange server and my galaxy note. I guess I will have to wait for jelly bean which I read was coming soon.

Note 1? I was running Rocket Rom 3 (JB) when I first used it fine.

I got it working on my NEX-6 and Motorola Atrix 2 (running Ice Cream Sandwich).

It's all quite cool but I'm still not understanding why it's actually useful :-)

Works on my galaxy S2. Very limited at the moment though

Self Portrait comes to mind but I guess also for some shots that maybe the are not as easy to do with the LCD...or just it looks cool in a good screen. I just hope they add more features eventually.
Right now is pretty much look and shoot. :D

Does anybody know if the remote contorl app can be used with bulb mode for long exposures?

I tried it on my 5R and it didnt work in bulb.... longest exposure time with remote control app was 30secs.

I use "DSLR remote plus" with a Galaxy S4 (or any other smartphone with IR blaster) but only for basic functions"on my Nex6.

I just tried this and it failed. I'm using Windows 10 and Firefox.

The plugin installed, but crashes. Here are some relevant screenshots.

I put a post in the Sony community site too. Anybody have a clue why this doesn't work?

I notice that the PMCAdownloader has not been updated since 2012 - seems very old.
