That's about the cleanest jacket, shirt and fingernails I've seen on street person. Wish they were that clean in Texas!

Some people may be offended by your choice of subject phrases but I must admit when I opened the link I literally laughed out loud.

Consider yourself lucky the guy didn't take a swing at you. ; )

Take care,

Yang ,

This is a very poignant shot …leaves little to the imagination as to what’s on his mind …I like it …but I think I’d like it more in a B&W or some type of duotone ……………

Hank,

When first looking at this section of the website my youngest son was viewing it with me. He pointed out the "poor language".. I have to agree with him.

I use those words and phrases myself.. but not around kids and not in public forums. So it's not a matter of telling mommy.. it's a matter respecting others who may not enjoy such colorful language. It is a public forum and respect for others should enter into how it is used.

He could have said the same thing without the F-Bomb.

I like the picture and have no issues with that but prefer the language to be toned down. I'm trying to get my son interested in photograhpy and have suggested this website as a place to learn and see the work of others. In the last year or so that I have been using the forum I have noted very little language of this nature outside of some overhead flamewars. While the subject title sums up the picture.. I don't think is appropriate.

From europe, your problems with the language use sound ridiculous.
Open your mind and use your language in your own way.

Oscar,

If I lived in Europe and lived by European customs and standards, etc. I might not have a problem with the language.. but I don't live in Europe and I certainly would not wish to impose my customs on you nor do I desire you to impose your customs on me.

Having an open mind has nothing to do with civil speech. I could drop the F-bomb now and it would be my right by the standards of my country.. but I choose not to do so because I have no idea who will read this. I choose not to offend others when possible. I can communicate effectivly without having to resort to more "colorful" expressions.

As for your statement above, that my problems with the laguage use sound ridculous from the european perspective... well, we are oceans apart aren't we?

Hi Yang,

I think the composition and expression is OK, but it doesn't have th eimpact of a street photography, I just miss some hints of the street live in the background,

jacques.

many thanks for your understanding humor, Jim! yang
