I went to a production of a local high school theater group that my cousin played a role in, and fearing that it would be stolen, took my camera along. I figured that it'd be a great opportunity to get some pictures and test my FZ200's capabilities out, and it was.

All these pictures are straight out of the camera, uploaded from the SDHC card with no cropping or post-processing whatsoever. Some therefore are strangely composed or have other spectators. They wber all takn handheld.' shoulders in them.

Good stuff! You were able to use 200-250 ISO so the lighting must have been relatively bright.

Thanks,

Mike

The quality 'straight-out-of-cam' is nothing but impressive ! Very natural skin tones etc..

Question: Which distance did you work at (approx.) ?

Excellent shots! The fact that most were shot at relatively low ISO shows that it is not a matter indoors vs outdoors, but rather how much light is falling on the subject/scene.

As we are seeing with other posts here lately it seems that most concert and stage productions do have enough light for the FZ200 to produce some pretty nice photos, as is the case here.

Thanks for posting these,

Rudy

Thank you all for your compliments.

I was sitting mid-row, so I would guess about 30m / 100 ft from the performers.

Lighting varied according to the scene...some scenes were dimly lit. The middle picture has an ISO of 1000, and is still quite impressive (in my opinion) and relatively free of noise.
