Kalalau (Na Pali Coast), Kauai. RX100 jpegs with some LR processing.

Great pictures from one of my favorite places! The RX100 is an amazing always-on-you camera! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful shots. Really enjoyed them.

Amazing! I'll be glad when I can edit RAW in Photoshop CS6!

Awesome!

The rainbow is so nice and you inspired me to try a night shot. How do these print? Done anything 8X10 or bigger?

I'm heading to Kauai in a couple of weks and thinking about leaving my "big" camera at home and go exclusivley w/ the RX.

I haven't tried printing.

These are my first pics with the RX100. I was planning on bringing my NEX-7 setup, but at the last minute I decided to leave it at home and just take the new little guy. Glad I did! Now I find myself carrying the RX100 everywhere and my NEX-7 is getting no love.

Great set, the shot of guys with the fish looks over-processed, can't figure why. Beautiful spot, thanks for posting.

The guys were in shadow with full sunlight lighting up the sand and water behind them, so I had to pull highlights way down and bring shadows way up. Here's the original:

here's another attempt at fixing it:

Better--less over-saturated skin tones.

Those are some of the toughest shots to fix with PP. Ran the original with Paintshop Pro 4X, Fill Light at 127 (max) and Clarity at 50.

great shots.

Very nice shots! Were you past the two mile point on the part of the hike that requires a permit? If so, could you tell us a bit about your experience? Thanks

I can say that, yes, these were definitely shot at deeper in the hike.

Probably on this beach? :

Yes the pics were taken at Kalalau beach, at the end of the 12 mile trail, one of the most magical places on earth. If you go, be sure to stay 5 nights, as it gets better each day. Get your permits in advance: https://camping.ehawaii.gov/camping/all,details,1692.html

The hike is very difficult (lots of steep switchbacks) but breathtaking, and the last few miles are the most spectacular. Alternatively, you can kayak Jun-Aug, while the waves are not too big, or have a boat drop you offshore (you'll have to swim in).

I love the series, it inspires me to do more with my RX100. I love the one with the fishermen and cliffs.
