Latest NX20 Review

Just browsed through it..I think these are JPEGs and Oly shows its strength there. I think those who frequent this forum a lot also know the OMD is something special. However, if I look at all the images I think all these cams are very capable cams with minor differences. I think other factors are probably more important which one to chose than IQ.

yes, Oly is strength in the ISO...

and Oly is just a M43 sensor too...

btw, NX20 improves well compare with NX older models...

The only interesting bit is that the "total DR" of NX200 was measured at 11.2 stops, while NX20 scored 12.1 f-stops. That is about a stop in the shadows! Can anyone confirm?

The kind of camera geeks that worry about exactly how much one camera may capture details better than another, are not best served by looking at jpegs. What you are actually testing is the cameras jpeg processing ability and Samsung are not alone in failing in that area. Mind you I wish they could learn something from Olympus and Pentax here. Then of course there is the lens, the Nikon images look dull and soft but it probably isn’t the camera that’s responsible.

The comment that gets me on my high horse is the first CON;

•So similar in design to a DSLR it makes you wonder why you didn't get a DSLR

Not everyone wants their mirrorless camera to be the size of a fiddly compact. I prefer mirrorless because I prefer true live view (EVF) over mirrors/prisms/OVF’s. I like a camera you can get hold of and has similar handling to a DSLR, however losing weight is always nice. I am happy to see why others may prefer a different design, so why is it so hard for some people to understand a bigger mirrorless has a place in the camera world.

All results taken with the kit lens? If so take the color, resolution, and detail findings with a grain of salt. Use a clear sharp lens on the camera to see what it is really capable of.
