I need to replace the lens' tripod mount with a Jobu lens foot in order to mount the lens on a gimbal.

The lens' manual explicitly warns users to avoid replacing tripod mounts themselves and advises that the job be left to Canon Service Centres.

The lens foot manufacturer seems to suggest that one does not really require a doctorate in quantum mechanics to use their provided Allen key to undo the 4 holding bolts and attach the foot.

Does anyone have any experience to share with replacing the tripod mount in this (or similar) models.

Many thanks.

I replaced mine in a whopping 3 minutes. As mentioned before,

Put a little loc-tite on the screws and hand tighten. It's simple

If you tighten and loosen Allen head screws.
