Walking into the sun (OMD)

I like it but, it's almost too dark (at least on this monitor). I love the way the sun reflects off the bricks and the red leaves of the trees. I also really like the way the light reflects off the fountain in the background. The part that seems too dark to me is the person walking down the path. Of course a silhouette is supposed to be dark, but the upper half of the silhouette gets kind of lost in the background. This might also just be the size I am able to view. If viewed or printed large then I could see how the silhouette might stand out a bit more.

An early morning at the time the sun comes up over the mountain in the background. I don't get to shoot silhouette too often, but this time I got one :)

Excellent composition and lighting.

Nice capture, the static elements are very well composed. But I am imagining a shot taken a second or 2 later, when the subject has fuly walked into the light from the pavement and his head is in the light of the pool. Compose the static elements and be observant as the dynamic ones fall into place. Of course, for all I know right after this picture was taken a bird sh@t on him and the capture I am imagining never existed....

The fact that it's a woman walking towards the camera might also cause issues with the shot you imagine =P

I was confused at first, the figure appearing to be walking away diagonally to the left. But I thought in the end she was walking away from the sun. . . the title had some influence there. ;) Though it's a shame she wasn't better defined about the torso for her location. That's not meant to say I don't like it. . .

Close :) A few seconds later a bus stopped on the road behind her. Yes she is walking towards me so the title is kind of misleading but sounds better :)

This was the best out of the series. It was hard to get the separation I wanted. A longer lens with more compression would have helped, but so it is with the fleeting moment.

Moody picture, I like it.

It would work even better if the silhouette were more backlit, but it's not easy to get ideal conditions when shooting in the street ;-)

Good PP too!
