Well, Simon, you did attract visitors who never frequented forums previously. Now they join forums only to tell you how bad the new forum is. ;)

... and it is. Too much wasted space on the screen, and worst of all, the new threaded view ignores all the old cookies that show what I've already read, and doesn't create any new ones, either, making it impossible to keep track of what I've read. This is a disaster.

When the new forum was first visited I saw that previously visited posts were not flagged (dimmed) - which was very frustrating.

I see that this is fixed now for new visits (but not retrospectively) - so, John, not sure why you're not seeing the change.

What negative drama.

I see the darkened dots now - I don't know if they weren't there before or if I just didn't notice them; I was looking for a change in the text color.

I only have one simple question, why or who determined that it needed to be changed so radically? I don't understand if something is O.K. WHY go through the time, expense and effort to change something that is working satisfactorily? Is someone trying to justify their position as a webpage creator, I don't get it. IMO the time, effort and expense could have been put to better use like maybe a few lens reviews or new camera reviews, after all, that is what the site was created for, NO?

Question all media always.
You are aware, aren't you, that every other reader can see the ratings just as well? It's unnecessary to keep posting updates.

I happen to like the new forum.

And not only do I like it, here's why I like it. It looks fresh, different categories and features are now clearly delineated, more pleasant to read.

Good job, guys!

Why is it that it it's not broken ....they have to fix it.

I much prefer there older layout.
