all of them are like thieves.....they mock you, give partcial answer respond, very not to the point.

i really dont understand why they advertise low price & when PPL call, they cant complete the sale.

its a waste of time.

has anyone encounter this?

most likely i will get the s2 through RITZ.

I've used Adorama for lenses and flash with great success... adorama.com. I did buy my camera from Ritzcamera.com because of the easy 10 day return option, which thankfully I didn't need.

I bought mine there too. Problem is...no ac adapter and no EX. Yes they were cheap. I asked them if this was the USA model. I was told yes assuming I get the AC adapter etc. It got here and was not there. I called and rasied cane. They said no-one there would EVER tell me it was a U.S.A. version. I told the manager that if he didn't make good on it I would spam the internet telling my story. Photo.net, resellers.net, here and usenet. After a long paused he said he would look and see if he had an AC adapter. Came back to the phone and said no but would send me one. The next day I get an e-mail saying it was shipped. He majically found one. I got my adapter but had to theaten to get it. Buyer beware.

Still don't know how to register my warranty. Wish I would have paid US price.

Usually if the price is too low, one is dealing with low people. Stick with quality dealers --- B&H is my favorite --- and you'll be happier and much better off. I don't mind paying a little extra if necessary if it means dealing with a company with well-known integrity.

I agree to a certain degree - but I saved more than $400 (B&H/Galaxy). My experience: if you check carefully it can work...

True. The sad thing is that many people are relatively new to photography when they order their first digital camera, and sometimes don't know of a good basis on which to make their decision.

That's why this forum with experienced buyers such as yourself are a real blessing to so many people who you and they may never meet.

This forum has had its share of people who have found themselves on the short end of what appeared to be a great deal. I guess reading their horror stories has made me a tad paranoid.

I'm glad that your experience worked out for you. You've got more guts than I do. :-)

There are some reputable online dealers besides the ones like B&H that everyone mentions. They are cheaper and there are differences, such as a Mack Warranty instead of a Fuji USA Warranty. And some of them will not provide A/C adapter or EX unless you ask for it.

http://www.deltainternational.com are one of these. Great price and service. To get exactly what you want I suggest you copy and paste exactly what you want into an email to them. You will get it if they say you will get it. I know because they topped up my kit (at their expense, including a USD 65 courier charge) after I pointed out the extra gear mentioned in my original email. No probs.

I think Mack is the only option for warranty though. Which may be a plus or minus depending on where you live and the service level offered.

People post their experiences and rate the reseller.

I shop at these places without any problems:

There are reputable dealers and there are unreputable dealers. If you want a good price without hassle with USA warranty, with all the software and hardware that's supposed to be in the price to start with- try B&H or Tallyns or Adorama or the two or three others out there. But PLEASE.. don't call them up and start telling them you can get a better deal from somebody else. They already know the dealers who lie to you to get you to buy from them. Digital Liquidators IS THE WORST !

B&H are very consistent. Maybe not rock bottom prices but very competetive and worth it to me. Never had even a hint of problems and have purchased around $5k worth of equipment from them.

Online purchasing is tempting considering the over the tob prices here in Ireland. Unfortuneatly orders from a US dealer are subject to tax and duty on arrival and nobody here can tell me how much!. Has anyone bought from a reasonably priced european dealer online?

Vincent

I recently placed orders based on recommendations from both of these companies and I cannot remember a time when I received such good service compared over to Germany.

Hats off to both of them. They checked, they called, the reassured and they followed up (without me asking). InsideComputer even voluntarily guaranteed arrival of goods or they will return me a full refund, no obligation.

With Delta I'll elaborate another day coz I haven't seen my goods yet but service tops.

I live to eat therefore I cook well, if I live to photograph would it happen?

Das Leben ist kurz. Also los - gibt GAS!!!!!

I have been shopping online for years, all I look for is a place with a normal price, and no sales tax, I used state street direct recomended by this site and got a great price and great service, for all other buys I use BH photo and have never had a problem, If the price is to go to be true "Well hello" it is. another reason they sell cheap is you don't get all that you pay for from a good dealer, they pull it out and try to sell it for more that face value. S2 is a big purchase buy from reputation not price.

I have ordered from B&H many many times. They are the best in my opinion. They are fast, fair and have never gotten my order wrong.

If anyone is ever in the N.Y. area they should go into the store. It's unbelievable! Maybe the 9th wonder of the world? :-)

My experience with B&H has been good too, as an international customer.
