I am just looking for an informative book on photoshop that is focused only (or mainly) on photography and no so much graphical design work. Any readers out there have any suggestions???

..."The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby. It came highly recommended by a professional photographer friend ("If you only buy one book on Photoshop, this is the one"). It is quite good.

The best photoshop book I´ve read is Photoshop Artistry: Mastering the Digital Image which is mainly focused on photography. It says what need to be said in a very efficient manner:

Unfortunately, the "perfect" book doesn't exist. Scott Kirby's book is a great cookbook with a dry wit, but it is sadly short on theory. I have to agree that Photoshop Artistry is one of the better books.

I've got Martin Evening's "Photoshop for Photographers" and I use it a lot. I am also a big fan of Tom Ang. Check out his "Digital Photographer's Handbook: Equipment, Techniques, Effects, Projects" and "Photoshop for Photography: The Art of Pixel Processing". Also have a look on the shelves in your local library for Mark Galer and Les Horvat's Digital Imaging. It is not wholly focused on photography, but it has a great section on 16-bit professional workflow.

by Mikkel Aaland. Great informative book without the tiresome attemps at humor by Kelby which got old REAL quick.
