That's what they look like to me.

Where were they taken?

Ahhh, nice wording for those expressions. I took them exactly because they seemed to be thinking something.
Where were they taken?
Believe it or not, I was following the Mrs. through a housewares store (don't ask me the name... I wasn't paying that close attention. hahahahahah). The stone faces were repros or imitations, I suppose.

I can't wait to get over to the Met so as to try to take some photos there. But the lighting in this store was interesting, and partly that's what drew me to notice these. They were scattered throughout the store.

Hi there, Kangaroo. :-)
i really like your pics of the faces!!
Thank you very much.
beautiful lighting & interesting subject.
Yes, I was drawn to shoot them for the lighting that I saw. Not perfect lighting, but it did capture attention.
i particularly like the
idea of the out of focus red(flowers?) in one of your pics.
Yes, I like that one, too. In particular (and similar to something Eric Hatch apparently did earlier today), I wanted to create a set of diagonal lines working across the frame. Can you see them?

David covered it well, but I am still compelled to note that "stoic" came to mind, and thus I offer it.

The lighting does seem to give the subjects some energy, regardless of whether the setup would have been your first choice. Nifty.

Thanks, FrankMcQ.

I tried to bring the viewer in close and add some drama by closing in relatively tightly on the field. Glad to hear that some of the energy of the limited setup was conveyed.
