Just recently purchased a canon G3. Have had lots of fun with it so far but have discovered that my current printer certainly doesn't do any justice. Have decided to upgrade my printer. Don't care about speed of prints, just want a good quality print that wont blow a hole in my pocket with purchase of printer, inks, or paper!!

What would you advise?

What's your current printer?

I'd strongly consider a Canon i950 or i850 to complement your G3.

Both of these are exceptional printers. They are capable of some
really impresive prints.
I'm liking the i850 just because it's cheaper in AUS (about $200 cheaper). Have also heard the s820 is better and it's cheaper!!! Is this true?

Has anyone got any other recommendations?

Should mention would only really be printing 3-4 photos per week.

Jane Williams , For myself I have a CoopPix 5700 camera at 5Mega Pix. I use a HP 7150 to print out all my photos! It does a great job in both B7W and color. Color= 4800X2400DPI and I think that the B&W is 2400X2400 and yes all this can be your's for the low low price of..............$149.00 Good luck on finding one................Lamont :> )

Hi Lamont, I am using the HP5550 which has a 4800x2400 I normally just let it use the Photo Ret IV to do the job instead of forcing it to the 4800x2400. Do you see any difference between the two resolution methods?

I was actually thinking of getting the Canon i9100 but after buying the S50 the i9100 is just too dear at $700 + tax

ive had an hp5550 with my g3. puts out some fabulous prints with the 6 color ink system. but we print a lot of fotos for realitives and scrapbooks and i am too tired of the expensive inks. i have spent $200 in ink since January.

the Canons at least separate their inks so you dont have to throw out an entire cartridge when just your yellow runs dry. after seeing the Canon i850 output (i tried one out at the the store in the US) and the price was only $150, i decided to give that a try. then i saw the i950 for sale at newegg.com for $225 and had to go that route. my parents need a printer so they'll prob get my 5550. that or ebay.

i'll prob get the ink refills from weink.com.
