Looking for simple poll here yes, no as in focus poll that went well. For those who have tested your 10D did you take more than 1 picture when testing and did it focus the same each time repeatably? Of 2 bodies I have had neither was consistent. My D60 in comparison is rock steady each frame looks nearly identical in a low DOF ruler test.

For those taking the challenge and testing make sure you rack camera out of focus each time and alternate between near and infinity.

Yes not consistent
No for consistent

Results 4 lenses FF every time. One lens very slightly back focuses every time. And to answer your question, yes the DOF and focus was the same shot to shot with each lens. And yes lens was cranked to infinity/close between shots alternately.

one is mine, the other is from my friend, each 10D used its own lens. Both having focus problems, consistently.

my S/N is 022XXXX, his S/N is 032XXXX

It's only a camera, not a religion!

This poll is a little different my cameras have taken excellent pictures and suspect pictures. So in my testing I always took 6-10 shots and found them to vary from good to bad to back focused to front focused. And as I told Canon how do you tweak something that is unpredictable. I also have the luxury of still having my D60 which is spot on and consistent shot after shot. If some have only taken 1 or 2 shots they should try doing a larger sample. I think most people have accepted something is amiss at least on some cameras these tests although not the most scientifically pure due seem to indicate there is problem. It is also my belief people who own slower lenses may never even see problems in daily use just the occasional errant shot where they think they got the shot but later find it's soft.

So for evey vote that people say may have been due to user error I submit there are as many where people see no problems where there might actually be a problem. In fact if they don't have a 50mm or some other prime or L lens for testing they may have never seen a lens focus in the same place twice my L lenses are great as is my 50 f1.4 but my cheaper 24-85 is sloppy even on D60 but I don't have high expectations for it but certainly don't want camera making it worse either. I regrettably have seen and tested 3 Canon 10D's to date and non have been close to my D60 in consistency. I still have hopes I will see one and own one and all this tiring testing BS may hopefully speed the process.

Oh well...let people try to count all the (yes, no's) if they want.
Just trying to make things easier.

note the 4 options on my poll

Yes, focus problems.
Yes, other problems.
Yes, it is operator error.
No, works great.

I suspect that a lot of them would be option 3, however, people would rarely pick that on :)
