I am thinking of upgrading my Olympus C-300 as I would like something with higher resolution and more manual controls. I do not want to spend a fortune on the camera in-case I cannot be bothered learning all the extra functions. I have read a lot of reviews and the Olympus C-4000 zoom seems to offer superb value for money. Is anyone using this camera and is it as good as the reviews that I have read? Also I like the idea of being able to use different lens adaptors and filters if I feel the need in the future. I was also wondering if anybody has tried alternative lenses and if so by what manufacturer, Olympus do a Telephoto lens but it is only 1.45 magnification, I found a Tiffen (43 mm thread) one that is 2 x magnification. I was also wondering if anyone used this lens and is it any good (or does it affect the image quality), or would I better off sticking to Olympus's own lenses. I would also be interested in a wide angle lense too! If I lived in America I would probably buy a more expensive camera, unfortunately living in England we get ripped off and end up paying a similar pound value to what you would pay a dollar value for the same product. Example the C-5050 zoom camera costs approx 905 dollars in the UK and the C-4000 zoom costs 556 dollars, so you can see why I want the C-4000 zoom! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
