LCD protector / cover

OK, got my S2 last night. The good thing that I've found is that it works well with original Nikon 3D Matrix TTL, hence allow me to use the "giant-compared-to-any-new-SB" Metz 54 MZ-3. I've always believed that the Metz gives better result than teh SB, but have not done any direct / scientific comparison yet.

Exposures seem to be more predictable and consistent compared to D100, but I have not found the perfect color setup. So far, it seems the picture is pretty close to D100, but maybe I just need to familiarize myself with the camera some more. Heck, I only have it for a little over 12 hours now, that is including 7 hrs sleep. :P

Can anybody point me to the right direction (color & tone setup) regarding the excellent skin-tone in this camera ? If I want to get the sharpest result (jpg), what should I do ? Shoot in 4256 fine jpg + normal sharpening, then resize ? Or shoot in 3024 fine jpg with high sharpening ?

About the LCD, thank you very much for the replies and suggestions.

Oh, one more thing. I don't mean to bash the D100 at all. It has its pluses and minuses compared to S2. But mainly, this Fuji forum is so great, offers plenty of infos without the trolls like the other forums.
Hi George,

Yes, the LCD protector is one of those dumb pieces they did put in
the camera, mostly useless while shooting but just ok the rest of
the time. I just take it into my pocket while shooting and put it
back at the end. I've been lucky enough not to loose it yet.

About the JPGs out of the S2, they're good. Better than those from
the D100 from what many say around.

Best, and wellcome to the forum.

Hi George,

I read about others using the clear LCD covers made for PDA's. I
bought a 12 pack from an office supply store for $17 (US). One
sheet was enough to cover all the LCD's on the S2. They seem to be
working fine so far. You really don't notice that they are on the
camera.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Mark
--Hi

I agree with Mark.

I'm using the same PDA cover for almost 2 months (as others I've lost the plastic cover...). It's clear enough and works fine.

Does anyone here use any kind of LCD protector / cover for the S2 ?
I believe the original one is not 100% transparent, am I correct ?
What do you use, and where did you get it from, and for how much ?
Thank you first.

P.S. I can't wait until the end of the day. My S2 is coming today,
and hopefully the in camera jpeg engine is better than my D100.

Here they are ...

... I purchased their recommended protector after I lost mine and
this is the greatest, protects your LCD screen while at the same
time, giving you the clearest view possible! It's not expensive
and fits perfectly, it actually looks better with it than without
it!
could you post a picture of it
while I don't think I really need it, I do like the idea of making
my S2 even more beautiful
while this might prove a technical challenge, I suspect you could
do this with a mirror, should you not have a backup camera

Hoodman makes a really nice one also.. It is like $20 though(for 2), but it is solid so it does act as a bump guard.. Hoodman makes 2 though.. One on them SUCKS SUCKS... and it not solid... The one I am talking about has 2 little hooks for attaching a little shade for daylight viewing... I cut them off cause they kept getting caugh on things and since I rawly shoot outdooors... But the hood is clear and SOLID... and about $10 each..

It STICKS on with this gel material that leaves no residue but it holds on pretty tight...
