When researching between the S400 and the Minolta F300, I came across a website that was selling a clear plastic bag like covering for the S400. NOT the waterprrof heavy plasic case, this case prevents sand, water splash and salt air etc.. from entering/destroying the camera. Very cool but I lost the site and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks!

Suzanne, this is all I could find. it was in reference to the s230. Looks like it can only be purchased on the japanese website, though. is this what you mean? it's called an Active Jacket.

That is exactly it. I swore I saw it for sale somewhere in the US. Seems like it is only in Japan. Thanks for checking

Okay - I never thought to search for it as a "jacket" Once I was given that japanese website that called it the "active jacket" Well I looked it up everywhere but couldn't find it. Then I checked on EBAY and there it was.... It is $34.99 plus shipping airmail of $6. Definately worth it in my eyes. Thanks for those who looked.

Thanks, Suzanne! I just got one too for a beach vacation- what a great idea, I appreciate you making us aware of it.

I have learned SO much on this forum in one month than I have learned the past two years with digital cams. Love to finally be the one to offer something worthwhile here :-)

FYI: I see that they were all purchased but if you check back on "completed items" for Canon active jackets, you can find the guy over in Japan selling them. I am sure he can get more if anyone else is interested.
