It's official . . . I'm published

I begin to love front-focused pictures taken at f/1.4 1/4000s ISO6400.

LOL

Terrific job, David. I like your work.

Don't stop!

Same venue, too.

According to Wood Newton, many album covers have been cut there. I
wasn't aware of that. I need to get some details.
I know how ya feel, having been recently published for the first
time as well.......now, to follow up?

Actually, part of my agreed-upon price was that I'd get a dozen copies of the CD.

LOL -- I thought I was being original, 'til I found out another photographer friend of mine (non-digital, but Canon) had done the same thing for his first CD cover.
Thanks for the info. http://www.jimmelton.com is under construction but
it could be another Jim Melton. OK. How many copies are you
buying up ;)

Acutally, that would've been at f/2 and ISO 800 Probably between 1/50 and 1/100

And I intentionally focused on the guitar. Yeah, that's the ticket. I wanted to smooth out her wrinkles. Yeah.

Amazing how the camera seems to lock on to something that's not anywhere near the area I'm trying to get in focus, as long as it's contrasty. Hmmmmmm.

As I recall, those orange-lit faces were perfect examples of when the AF green light would blink at me and laugh.

whats up with the orange border??
Well, the songwriter says the check's in the mail for the image to
use on his CD cover, anyway.

Here it is (low rez)

it's 5"x5", and the red lines indicate where it will be cut down to
4.75" x 4.75" (pretty sure that's the standard cover size).

Woohoo. Boy, I can quit the day job and retire now. NOT! lol

Well! Don't we feel proud:-) Congratulations on your success.

Will you still talk to us or is Phil gonna have to add a new forum? It will be a forum for those that have been published because they're too big to talk to us little people.

Congrats again.

Cool! Now that you are independantly wealthy may I please have your
500 4.0 IS?
Thank you, Frank

Hmm, first they give you a press pass, and now someone have put one of your photos on a CD cover? (albeit not the much coveted self portrait, but still...)

I better call your boss and let him know he'll need to replace you as you surely will quit your day job before long!

Congratulations DavidP!

Since I can't charge much for CD covers, maybe I should charge for answers on Phil's forums, instead. ;)

That'll be $1, please. LOL.

I don't mean to offend, but if you are offended, then maybe you're too sensitive or I've overdone it.

Let's see. I already have you down as getting the 100-400 IS when I die. Sorry, no can do.

PS -- you might have a hard time convincing the wife to turn it over, rather than selling it, though. LOL.
